A Pick of INDONESIA'S Exotic Iced Drinks

Every country has it's own wonderful sweet delicacies to enjoy. While other parts of the world have come up with the likes of puddings and ice creams to spoil their sweet tooth, Indonesia absolutely love its array of exotic ice drinks. Here is a low down of some of the country's favorite iced servings.

Es Campur



Es campur is an Indonesian classic, whichincorporates a host a different components into one iced bowl. However, the composition varies from places to places. In Medan, for example, red beans and pomegranate seeds are used, while Jakarta uses coconut meat and tapai in its mix. Avocado, jackfruit and kolang kaling are ingredients found in all versions of es campur.

Es Goyobod


With bits of avocado, coconut, tapai and ketan hitam, es goyobod, which comes from Bandung, gives you an exciting mix of flavor and texture in your mouth. The taste of pandan and condensed milk incorporated into the shredded ice makes for a lovely slurp on a hot sunny day.

Es Teler



Es teller is adrink that would please everyone's taste buds, without exception. It's basically a fruit cocktail, consisting of avocado coconut meat, jackfruit and other fruits. It's served with coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk and pandan leaf. It does not get any more exotic.

Es Cincau



Sold absolutely everywhere in Jakarta, es cincau is popular for its unique taste. It delightfully soft bitter bites, derived from cincau or grass jelly, with the sweetness of its syrup. The cincau eaten itself would not be much of an appeal, but coupled with the mixed off coconut milk and palm sugar, it is heavenly.

Es Pisang Hijau



Es pisang ijo is a kind of typical food in South Sulawesi , especially in the city of Makassar, which is made from green bananas as the main ingredient . Es Podeng

Es Kopyor


Es kopyor was from Kelapa Kopyor. it was different from the ordinary coconut, especially for the coconut meat and Kopyor have a little bit coconut water. Kopyor was from middle of java. Ice Kopyor ingredients was coconut kopyor meat and also the water, with red syrup and sugar , sometimes with milk or cream.

Es Dawet Ayu/ Cendol




This particular drink from Banjarnegara Central Java, can actually be served warn. However, it is when cubes of ice are added, that the drink becomes a national favourite.
Es Dawet is bassically rice flour droplets in sweetened coconut milk. It's also often served with bits of jackfruit.
